         <abstract label="Summary" encodinganalog="520$a">The collection consists of manuscript materials, sound recordings, and photographs documenting the performance of bluegrass music from Ohio, blues music and African American a capella doo-wop from Washington, D.C., folk music from Bengal, India; Japanese music from Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rican cuatro and salsa music from Washington, D.C. recorded live at the Thomas Jefferson Building, Library of Congress, in concerts from May through September 1984, sponsored by the American Folklife Center. The concert of Japanese music was followed by a workshop in the Whittall Pavilion on Japanese brush painting.</abstract>

         <head>Scope and Content</head>
         <p>The 1984 Neptune Plaza Concert Series Collection consists of
		  manuscript and print materials, audio recordings, and graphic materials that
		  document the 1984 concert series sponsored by the American Folklife Center. The
		  annual series, which began in 1977, features the presentation of folk
		  traditions from many cultures.  The 1984 series was produced with the assistance of the National Council for the
		  Traditional Arts. </p>
         <p>The 1984 season consisted of the following:
