      <bioghist>
         <p>Flora Virginia Milner Livingston was the wife of <persname>Luther Samuel
Livingston </persname>(1864-1914), the first librarian of the Harry Elkins Widener Memorial
Collection in the Harvard College Library. He was also a bookseller and bibliographer,
worked for Dodd, Mead &amp; Company, and was a partner in Dodd and Livingston.  Flora 
Livingston became assistant librarian of the Widener Collection after her husband's
death in 1914; then librarian in 1926.  Rudyard Kipling, Henry James, and John Gay
were some of her many scholarly interests.  </p>
