Maurice Vloberg (1885-1967) was an author and art historian based in Paris, France. His work focused on Catholic themes in art history, primarily the Blessed Virgin Mary, but also the Eucharist, Christmas, and Christian holidays. He served as executive secretary to Father Ramond at l'association Notre-Dame de Salut.

He was first published in 1921 and is the author of numerous books including L'eucharistie dans l'art, Les Fetes de France: Coutumes Religieuses et Populaires, La Legende Doree de Notre Dame: Huit Contes Pieux du Moyen Age, Les Noels de France, Notre-Dame de Paris et le Voeu de Louis XIII: la Vie de la Cathedrale aux XVIIe et XVIIIe si, La vie de Marie, Mere de Dieu, and La Vierge et l'enfant dans l'art Francais.

 Scope and Contents

This collection includes Maurice Vloberg's research and manuscripts for published and unpublished books and articles on the topics of religious themes in art history, primarily the Blessed Virgin Mary. The majority of textual materials in this collection is either unpublished, or research relating to published works. The most heavily covered subject in the collection is Marian iconography.

The collection contains clippings of periodicals and newspaper articles, hand-written notes, handwritten and typed drafts and manuscripts, some correspondence (primarily with publishers), bibliographies, images and photographs, hand-drawn maps, and ephemera. Hand written materials may be difficult to read.
