The postcards include images of statues, interiors and exteriors of structures (including churches, shrines, basilicas, sanctuaries, and grottos), artistic representations, and additional images relating to shrines. The most substantially represented countries in the collection include Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United States. The earliest postcards in the collection date from circa 1909, but the bulk of the collection dates from circa 1950s to the present day.

Some postcards have handwritten notes with postmarks or handwritten identification on the verso. The repository continues to add materials to this collection.
