         <p>Engel, a novelist and English professor, was an editor at Viking Press 
(1947-1951). Moore and Olson were American poets. </p>
      </bioghist>

         <p>Moore's 34 letters, 1950-1954, to Engel concern the editing and publishing of her work, 
particularly her translations of the <emph render="italic">Fables of La Fontaine. </emph>Olson's 41 letters 
discuss both personal and professional matters. Also includes poems by Olson that were sent 
with his letters.</p>
